Some years ago, I proofread Outi Tarkiainen’s first opera, A Room of One’s Own. This time around, I’ve had the pleasure of creating the piano reduction of her next opera, Day of Night. The libretto is by Aleksi Barrière and based on the novel Halla Helle by Niillas Holmberg. It is set to premiere at the Aalto Theatre Essen in 2027. I’m very grateful to Edition Wilhelm Hansen for the opportunity to work on this project.
